Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Small animal reproduction includes gynecology, andrology, biotechnology, and neonatology in companion animals. New approaches in reproductive physiology, diagnostic procedures, and clinical treatment are required to understand basic relations and to preserve healthy animals. Whether an animal undergoes gonadectomy or stays intact is a conscious decision for most owners. Therefore, investigation of unwanted side effects of gonadectomy as well as diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the reproductive tract are of high value. In breeding animals, the main goal is to produce healthy offspring. Assisted reproductive techniques, especially artificial insemination, allow overcoming large distances and having the potential to increase genetic diversity.

The content of this Special Issue will be original research papers, review articles, as well as short communications concerning all parts of Small Animal Reproduction. The aim is to broaden knowledge in this specific area with new physiological insights as well as clinical aspects.
