Companion Animals
Section Information
The Companion Animals section of Animals will publish original research dealing with animals that are kept as pets or companion animals, including dogs and cats of course, but also other less common pets, such as rodents, reptiles or fish. This section includes companion animals that are used as support animals or for animal related therapies. Papers focusing on companion animals in shelters, considering any issue of shelter medicine, management or behaviour are also welcome. This section allows the inclusion of a wide range of topics related to companion animals including human/animal bonding, behaviour and training, breeding and genetics, nutrition and veterinary ethics. A particular focus on welfare is certainly encouraged. As Animals enjoys a wide audience it is important to ensure all technical data are made accessible to all readers.
