In the original publication [1], the Informed Consent Statement was unclear. A correction has been made to update this statement. The statement has been revised to explicitly state the reason for the waiver of informed consent, as approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB). The authors state that the scientific conclusions are unaffected. This correction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief. The original publication has also been updated.
The corrected statement is as follows:
Given the retrospective design using existing surgical specimens and de-identified data, the IRB waived the requirement for written informed consent. Study information was publicly disclosed on the institution’s website, and eligible patients and/or their relatives were provided the opportunity to opt out.
