Cover Story: This study introduces a novel method for the two-dimensional separation of fine powders using a deflector wheel air classifier and an electrostatic separator. The approach achieves enhanced particle separation based on size and material composition by combining aerodynamic classification and triboelectric material sorting. Key innovations include optimized blade designs to reduce flow vortices and improve classification sharpness. Experimental and CFD analyses validate the process, demonstrating an enrichment of up to 35% for two different materials. This technique offers significant advancements in particle recycling and precision material handling. View this paper
