Cover Story: The 2nd International Electronic Conference on Metals was hosted online from 5 to 7 May 2025. Metallurgy and metals play a crucial role in addressing major societal challenges. In recent decades, with rapid technological advances, metallic materials have been extended to many emerging technological fields for a wider range of applications, used not only as structural materials but also as functional ones. IECME 2025 presented the state of the art of metallurgy and metals related to the following topics: Computation, AI, and Machine Learning in Metals; Metallic Materials Chemistry; Microstructure of Metals and Alloys; Entropic Alloys and Meta-Metals; Metallic Functional/ Electronics Materials; Additive Manufacturing; Corrosion, Wear, and Protection; Metallic Materials Processing; Metallic Materials for Biomedical Applications.
