Cover Story: Sprinkler irrigation systems are widely used in agriculture, but their performance often varies due to factors such as wind, pressure, and soil compaction. This study integrates multispectral data from Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs) with field-based soil measurements to evaluate the spatial uniformity of water distribution. By combining NDWI indices, gravimetric moisture, and geostatistical modeling, the research reveals patterns of infiltration and compaction that affect irrigation efficiency. The approach demonstrates the potential of aerial sensing for precise water management and sustainability in irrigated agriculture. View this paper
