The Updated Scope of Fuels

Swanson School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh, 940 Benedum Hall, 3700 O’Hara Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15261, USA
The journal Fuels (ISSN: 2673-3994) was launched in 2020. Since then, it has been responsible for numerous impressive publications covering a wide area within fuel science and technology. We remain committed to an open and robust peer review process to ensure that the papers we publish are of the highest quality, advancing our understanding of fuels. However, we believe it is now time to look back on these publications and review the subjects listed within our scope to ensure that they remain as appropriate and up to date as possible. Considering the papers published and the developments in relevant research areas over the past few years, we conclude that the subjects given in our scope are largely appropriate and up to date, but some minor amendments could be profitably made. Our basic scope remains appropriate, but the topics listed have been updated and broadened, as indicated in Table 1.
Table 1. The present scope and the updated version.
With this update, we would like to take the opportunity to invite new submissions to Fuels on any of the research topics mentioned. We welcome original and innovative empirical and theoretical work from established scholars and early career researchers worldwide. On our side, we will continue to prioritize rapid responses and peer reviews without compromising the rigor of these processes.
