Cover Story: Scintillation quenching introduces significant nonlinearities in particle detectors based on plastic and inorganic scintillators. We report new quenching measurements for EJ-200 and LYSO scintillators using proton and carbon beams, as well as atmospheric muons, covering a broad range of ionization densities. Our analysis combines these results with relevant data from the literature, interpreting the global dataset through the Birks–Onsager framework and a generalized logistic parametrization, thereby providing experimentalists with a practical tool for modeling light yield suppression. View this paper
