Journal of Fungi, Volume 7, Issue 9

September 2021 - 105 articles

Cover Story: The cell integrity signaling pathways provide fungal cells with the opportunity to react to environmental insults and physiological changes, including the onset of the synthesis of the septum during cytokinesis. The general architecture of these signaling pathways is conserved; however, they have been under selective pressure in order to adapt their responses to the distinct cellular mechanism regulating cytokinesis, as highlighted here for Schizosaccharomyces pombe (CIP) and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (CWI).
