Abstract
This article addresses the output feedback control of nonlinear systems via a fuzzy affine model-based method and observer design technique. To acquire the estimation of the unmeasurable system states, a piecewise affine observer is first devised. By exploiting Young’s matrix inequality and its variant, a design approach to the observer-based output feedback controller is proposed under a convex optimization set-up. In particular, only half of the crossing term needs to be upper-bounded, which yields relaxed existence conditions. Moreover, the proposed approach removes the restriction in existing results that the control input matrices of all local affine models must be identical and uncertainty-free. Simulations on a nonlinear navigation electronic circuit are conducted to illustrate the efficacy of the developed approach.
