Cover Story: This study aims to demonstrate the complex effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation on one-dimensional (1D) ZnO and zero-dimensional (0D) metal nanostructures of NO2 gas sensors. In this study, we fabricated 1D and 0D convergence gas sensors activated via UV photonic energy to sense NO2 gas at room temperature. One-dimensional ZnO nanorods and ZnO nanotubes were synthesized via the use of a simple hydrothermal method. All of the sensors were tested under UV irradiation (365 nm) to operate at room temperature rather than a high temperature. In addition, 0D Pt nanoparticles were decorated on gas sensors to further improve their sensing responsivity. View this paper
