Cover Story: The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we face medical practice and prevention. The development of effective vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 virus was a significant tool in the battle against the pandemic. However, exacerbations of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa have been reported following COVID-19 vaccination, while the underlying mechanisms by which vaccination may trigger these flares remain largely unclear. Further research is warranted in larger populations to validate the association between vaccination and possible flares of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. We strongly encourage COVID-19 vaccination to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease with its devastating complications, healthcare professionals should be prepared to adeptly manage the intricacies of vaccinating patients with chronic inflammatory diseases.
