Cover Story: By using first-principles simulation techniques, we found that arsenic species can enter the interlayer spaces of LDHs with high layer charge density, but not those with low layer charge densities. H2AsO3 orientates in a tilt-lying way and H2AsO4 has two orientations: one with its three folds axis-normal to the layer sheets and another with its two folds axis-normal to the layer sheets, while only the latter was observed for HAsO42−.
