Computers, Volume 14, Issue 9

September 2025 - 61 articles

Cover Story: Artificial intelligence (AI) is redefining both computer science and cybersecurity domains by enabling more intelligent, scalable, and privacy-aware systems. Prior surveys cover these fields in isolation, but this paper provides a unified review of 256 peer-reviewed publications to bridge that gap. Our dual-domain synthesis highlights powerful cross-cutting findings and shared challenges. Explainable AI, Federated Learning, and Local Differential Privacy are identified as essential safeguards in decentralized environments such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and healthcare. Despite transformative progress, we also emphasize persistent limitations such as fairness and adversarial robustness. This review integrates perspectives from two disciplines to deliver a unified foundational framework mapping advances, limitations, and requirements for resilient, ethical and trustworthy AI systems. View this paper
