Cover Story: We determined the effect that the individual and combined action of an EM microbiological preparation and the Asahi SL biostimulator in various stubble management systems had on the biological and chemical soil properties and the phytosanitary condition of wheat. The preparations we tested that are based on the activity of microorganisms and natural phenolic compounds are treated as potential substitutes for traditional fertilizers and pesticides, the abuse of which is considered to be a cause of environmental degradation. The results of this, by expanding the information base upon which the principles of eco-friendly product application will be clarified, may support their wider-scale introduction into agricultural practice, while also ensuring their efficacy and environmental benefits.
