Cover Story: Two homometallic coordination polymers were used to prepare a family of Eu3+ /Tb3+ ratiometric thermometers with 1:1, 1:3, 1:5, and 1:10 Eu3+/Tb3+ molar ratios. Heterobimetallic materials behave as spectroscopic and colorimetric thermometers due to the peculiar variation of their emission spectra and the emitted light color. Temperature differences in the order of 10–20 K can be obtained by employing the eyes as a detector. This study proposes the basis to bring luminescent molecular thermometers into daily life by measuring temperature via determining the color of the emitted light.
