Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment of Dental Diseases and Temporomandibular Joints

Dear Colleagues,

This Topic is dedicated to sharing practical knowledge and clinical experience in the field of dentistry, with a particular focus on dental disorders and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) conditions. We welcome a broad range of contributions that reflect the real-world challenges, innovations, and therapeutic strategies encountered in daily medical–dental practice. We are especially interested in hands-on approaches, case-based insights, clinical workflows, treatment methodologies, and interdisciplinary perspectives that support the continuous development of orofacial care. Topics may include but are not limited to the management of TMJ dysfunctions, restorative techniques, prosthetics, oral surgery practices, and interdisciplinary treatments that bridge dental and medical care. While the main emphasis of this Topic is on practical clinical content, we also welcome articles that explore the application of diagnostic imaging—such as X-rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound—when these methods contribute meaningfully to the diagnosis or management of dental and TMJ-related conditions. Such contributions will enrich the collection by supporting the exchange of knowledge between orofacial science and clinical practice. Furthermore, we encourage submissions that consider emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, as tools to support and enhance dental diagnostics, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making, which will be published in highly recognisable journals. We welcome original research, case reports, technical notes, reviews, and clinical guidelines that reflect the current state and future directions of orofacial medicine. We look forward to your valuable contributions and to building a collection that supports collaborative progress and shared expertise in improving dental and TMJ care.
