May 2018: Two Society Collaborations Established

In May 2018, two societies chose to establish a cooperation with MDPI journals.

As part of this collaboration, the members of these affiliated societies will enjoy a discount on the article processing charges (APC) when submitting articles to the corresponding journals. The collaboration goes beyond the discount benefit offered to members and includes other services as well as cross-promotions.

The Australian Society of Plant Scientists (ASPS) is an incorporated society that promotes Plant Science in Australia and provides professional support within the community of teachers and researchers in plant sciences. J.G. Wood was the original Foundation President of the Society and, in collaboration with R.N. Robertson, brought the concept of the Society to fruition.

The long-term goal of establishing the European Aeronautics Science Network (EASN) was to build an open, unique European platform in order to structure, support, and upgrade the research activities of the European Aeronautics Universities, as well as to facilitate their response to their key role of developing new knowledge and breakthrough technologies within the European Aeronautical Research Community. The European Aeronautics Science Network principles have obtained the support of the European Commission thanks to two funded Specific Support Actions. On 6 May, 2008, the EASN Association was officially established. This association is an international association based in Brussels, self-funded and self-sustainable, coordinated and run by a board of directors which is elected by the General Assembly for a three-year term.
