Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In the context of Industry 5.0, where collaboration among humans, intelligent systems, and robots is increasingly normalized, the consequences of digital culture are even more pronounced. This paradigm shift calls for a closer investigation of both the challenges and opportunities presented by advanced technologies in educational contexts. Issues such as inclusivity, accessibility, and cultural responsiveness are central to understanding how education can evolve to meet the demands of these new societal configurations (Lima et al., 2024). Digital culture also creates space for pressing debates around digital citizenship, ethical engagement, and global responsibility (Isoqovich & Kisilkova, 2025; Alias & Razak, 2025).

This Special Issue seeks to explore the dynamic interplay between digital culture and advanced educational technologies, with a particular focus on how this relationship fosters educational innovation in a rapidly evolving digital society.

We welcome original research, theoretical contributions, and practical case studies that explore how educational technologies both shape and are shaped by digital culture across diverse communities, systems, and institutional contexts. Contributions should address key questions such as the following: How do learners build digital cultural competence? What role does technology play in promoting ethical awareness and cultural inclusivity? How can educational innovation be informed by the values and practices emerging in digital spaces?
