Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Energy policy is one of the fundamental pillars of the sustainable development paradigm. Therefore, activities related to sustainable energy development are primarily focused on increasing the use of renewable energy sources in the energy mix, improving energy efficiency, and reducing greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions. They less often address the issue of improving the quality of life of citizens and reducing the problem of energy poverty in society, even though society is the most important part of the system. Thus, the energy transition process, which involves the transition from conventional to sustainable energy, is a complex process that comprises environmental, economic, and social aspects in addition to purely energy-related factors.

The main aim of this Special Issue, entitled Energy Policy in Response to Global Climate Change is to highlight the efforts of researchers from all over the world on energy policy relevant to environmental, economic, and social issues.

In this context, theoretical and practical studies related to energy policy, climate change, economic growth, and society are required. We welcome original papers that provide new insights into these areas of interest.

Topics of interest for publication include, but are not limited to:

  • Energy policy;
  • Energy security;
  • Energy market;
  • Sustainable energy development;
  • Renewable energy development;
  • Climate Change;
  • GHG and air pollutions emission;
  • Energy efficiency;
  • Energy transition;
  • Economic growth;
  • Energy poverty.
