Selected Papers from the XXIV Brazilian Congress of Chemical Engineering (COBEQ 2023)

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue of Processes will present selected papers from the XXIV Brazilian Congress of Chemical Engineering (COBEQ 2023) that will take place in Salvador, Bahia State, between 1 and 4 October 2023.

The Brazilian Congress of Chemical Engineering (COBEQ) is the most important national event in the realm of chemical engineering area. It encompasses an extensive knowledge area of chemical engineering and related areas. COBEQ also offers an excellent opportunity for the chemical engineering community to exchange ideas and update scientific information in different areas. Biannually held by the Brazilian Association of Chemical Engineering (ABEQ), this event sees than a thousand professionals from academia and industry, Ph.D. and master's, undergraduate students, and other practitioners and researchers gather to discuss topics related to research and innovation in the chemical engineering field.

The COBEQ's central theme in 2023 is the energy transition and current challenges to its completion. In addition to the central theme, topics related to environmental and clean technologies; biotechnology and food; new materials and nanotechnologies; chemical reactions and catalysis; transport phenomena and particulate systems; separation engineering and thermodynamics; process system engineering; oil, gas and biofuels; and chemical engineering education will be discussed there.

This Special Issue, together with the conference proceedings, will be a valuable reference document to the scientific and industrial community, and it will contribute to the most recent advancements and challenges in the chemical engineering field.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
