Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Bast fiber crops have long been used as a textile material. However, over time, besides fiber, more and more functional components of bast fiber crops have gradually been discovered, such as polysaccharides in jute, CBD in hemp, chlorogenic acid in ramie, oil in flaxseed, and so on. Additionally, some of these have also been gradually used to develop new food or health products. Therefore, in order to better develop bast fiber crop resources, it is helpful to improve the multi-purpose utilization of bast fiber crops and ultimately benefit the health of humanity through an in-depth exploration of their functional components.
This Special Issue is thereby specially focused on the evaluation of the functional components of bast fiber crops. We call for relevant studies to highlight the most recent progress or the most crucial scientific factors of bast fiber crops. You are kindly encouraged to submit a manuscript(s) to this Special Issue, wherein all research articles, communications, or scientific reviews are welcome. As suggested, the relevant topics include but are not limited to: a) synthesis, characterization and application of the functional components of bast fiber crops; b) extraction and purification of the functional components of bast fiber crops; and c) detection analysis of the functional components of bast fiber crops. We believe this Special Issue will serve as a platform to help ensure a better application of bast fiber crops for human health.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
