Geomatics for Mineral Resource Management
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The growing complexity of mineral exploration and extraction demands innovative approaches that integrate accurate spatial data, advanced analytics, and sustainable practices. Geomatics, encompassing remote sensing, geodesy, GIS, geospatial modelling, and data fusion, has become central to addressing these challenges. Its applications now span the entire mining value chain, from resource discovery to closure and post-mining monitoring.
With this Special Issue, we invite authors to contribute novel research, methodological advances, and practical case studies that demonstrate how geomatics is shaping the future of mineral resource management. Submissions may explore emerging technologies, integrated workflows, advanced modelling techniques, decision-support systems, or interdisciplinary solutions that enhance efficiency, environmental stewardship, and operational safety in the mineral sector.
We encourage contributions from both academia and industry and welcome diverse perspectives that showcase the expanding role of geospatial technologies in responsible mineral resource development. Through this collection, we aim to foster collaboration, highlight innovative thinking, and advance the scientific dialogue on geomatics-driven approaches to mineral resource management.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Mining is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
