22–25 October 2025, Bor, Serbia
56th International October Conference on Mining and Metallurgy (IOC 2025)
The International October Conference on Mining and Metallurgy (IOC 2025) is organized by the Technical Faculty in Bor, University of Belgrade, in cooperation with the Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor. The conference covers a wide range of topics, with a main focus on mining and metallurgy.
Main topics of IOC 2025 include the following:
-Mining and geology (underground and surface mining, mineral processing, and geology).
-Metallurgy and materials (extractive metallurgy, metal processing, materials science, and inorganic technology).
-Environmental and chemical engineering (environmental protection, chemical engineering, and recycling technologies).
-Industrial engineering and energetics (manufacturing technologies, industrial engineering, energetics, and quality management).
-Mechanical and software engineering (mechanical engineering, design and construction, and software engineering).
Registration, as well as the submission of abstracts and full papers, is available via the conference website:

We invite original contributions in all areas of mining, metallurgy, materials engineering, environmental protection, and related fields.
The conference program will include plenary and invited lectures, oral and poster presentations, industrial site visits, and excellent opportunities for networking and professional exchange.
This year’s conference will be the 56th edition, which speaks to its long tradition and significance. It will be held in Bor, Eastern Serbia, at Bor Lake, from 22 to 25 October 2025.
Bor is a historic mining and metallurgical center in Eastern Serbia. With the opening of its first copper mine in 1903, Bor became one of the most important hubs of non-ferrous metallurgy in Southeastern Europe, though its mining tradition dates back to prehistoric sites like Rudna Glava and Majdanpek. Today, Bor is known for the RTB Bor complex, which includes mines, flotation facilities, a smelter (modernized with Flash Smelting technology from 2010 to 2014), and a refinery. Since 2018, the complex has been owned by Zijin Mining Group, which has expanded production, improved environmental standards, and introduced modern, energy-efficient technologies. This strong mining and metallurgical tradition is also the main reason why the International October Conference has been held in Bor for so many years.
