JMMP 2022 Best Paper Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the “JMMP 2022 Best Paper Award” for research and review articles published in Journal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing (JMMP) from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022. One review and one research article will receive an award each. The papers will be selected after a thorough evaluation by the journal Award Committee led by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Steven Y. Liang.
Eligibility for the Award:
– Papers published in Journal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing in 2022;
– Open to all career levels;
– Both regular and Special Issue submissions will be considered.
Selection Criteria:
The papers will be selected by the journal Award Committee according to the following criteria:
– Scientific merit and broad impact;
– Originality of the research objectives and/or the ideas presented;
– Creativity of the study design or uniqueness of the approaches and concepts;
– Clarity of presentation;
– Citations and downloads.
The Prize:
– One review award: CHF 500 and a chance to publish a paper free of charge in JMMP in 2024 after peer review;
– One research article award: CHF 500 and a chance to publish a paper free of charge in JMMP in 2024 after peer review;
– Each winner will also receive a certificate.
The winners will be announced on the journal website in February 2024.

JMMP 2023 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As Editor-in-Chief of JMMP, I am pleased to announce the winner of the JMMP 2023 Travel Award. The award has been granted to Dr. Jingchao Jiang, who obtained his PhD degree from the University of Auckland in New Zealand and is now a Postdoc at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research mainly focuses on sustainable and smart additive manufacturing.
Dr. Jingchao Jiang will attend the 50th International Conference on Computers and Industrial Engineering in Dubai and deliver a speech on his paper “Low-Melting-Point Alloy Integrated Extrusion Additive Manufacturing”.
As the awardee, Dr. Jingchao Jiang will receive an honorarium of CHF 800, an offer to publish a paper free of charge in JMMP in 2023 after peer review, and an electronic certificate.
With so many high-quality applicants, the evaluation process and final decision were challenging. We would like to thank all the applicants for submitting their diverse and fascinating range of research topics. JMMP 2022 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Editor-in-Chief, we are pleased to announce the winner of the JMMP 2022 Travel Award.
The award has been granted to Dr. Jungsub Kim, who obtained his Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Catholic University of Daegu, Korea, in February 2014. He also graduated with a PhD in mechanical engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, Korea, in February 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Sangwon Lee. He is presently a postdoctoral fellow in mechanical engineering at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on sensors and instrumentation. Dr. Jungsub Kim will attend the ASME 2022 17th International Manufacturing Science and Engineering Conference and deliver a speech on his paper, “CFRP Milling and Drilling Process Monitoring by Using A Spindle-Integrated Three Axis Force Sensor”.
With so many high-quality applicants, the evaluation process and final decision were challenging. We would like to thank all the applicants for submitting such a diverse and fascinating range of research topics. Dr. Nagalingam Arun Prasanth, Research Scientist/IPT-Lead, Manufacturing Technologies Programme
Rolls-Royce@NTU Corporate Lab, Singapore.
Dr. Prasanth is an intellectual researcher/lead with substantial academic achievements, industry exposure, and volunteer experience. He specializes in additive manufacturing, advanced precision engineering, materials characterization, and surface-enhancement technologies. Currently, Dr. Prasanth’s research is revolutionizing the areas of new product/process introduction, additive manufacturing, and surface enhancement. Dr. Prasanth will attend the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Surface Enhancement and deliver a speech about his paper “Data-Driven Artificial Intelligence Model for Uniform Surface Polishing of Complex Geometries in Mass Vibratory Finishing Processes”.
The Travel Award consists of a certificate and CHF 800. Congratulations to the winner of this highly competitive Travel Award.

JMMP 2020 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing (JMMP), I am pleased to announce the winner of the 2020 Travel Award sponsored by JMMP. The award was granted to Mr. Shivesh Anand, a PhD student of Maastricht University, the Netherlands. The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs to support attendance at the academic conference related to the scientific fundamentals and engineering methodologies of manufacturing and materials processing in 2020.
Mr. Shivesh Anand’s current research is Biofabrication approaches towards manufacturing the human tympanic membrane, synergizing nano-biofabrication technologies together for manufacturing functional human tympanic membranes with a requisite vibro-acoustic and immunomodulatory response.
I would like to congratulate the winner and thank the selection committee for their excellent work in the hard task of selecting the winners from such a large number of excellent candidate profiles.

JMMP 2019 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As Editor-in-Chief of JMMP (Journal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing), I am pleased to announce the winner of the 2019 Travel Award sponsored by JMMP. The award was granted to Dr. Pan Wang, postdoctoral fellow of the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech). He will receive 800 Swiss Francs for travel expenses to attend the 10th Pacific Rim International Conference on Advance Materials and Processing (PRICM-10) to be held in Xi’an, China.
Dr. Pan Wang’s current research is focused on additive manufacturing of metal and polymers, high-quality powder for additive manufacturing, phase transformation and deformation behavior of metastable alloys, and superplastic deformation of Mg and Al alloys.
JMMP is proud to support this young researcher working in the fields of processes, equipment, systems, and materials in relation to manufacturing, and wish him further success in his career. We are grateful to all who submitted applications—thank you for letting us get to know you and your work. We hope all of you will continue following JMMP in the future.

JMMP 2018 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing, I am pleased to announce the winner of the Travel Awards 2018 sponsored by JMMP.
The Evaluation Committee were very impressed with the high level of work presented. After careful consideration, the Travel Award has been granted to Dr. Atieh Moridi, a post-doctoral fellow of Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs, and is available for the winner to use for attendance and participation in the academic conference in 2018.
Dr. Atieh Moridi will present her work at “Materials Science and Technology Conference (MS&T 2018)”, which will be held on 14-18 October 2018 in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
We would also like to deliver our great thanks to all the applicants in various fields of study for their participation and all the Evaluation Committee Members for their comprehensive evaluation of candidates.
