Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Kidney transplantation continues to be the best option for renal function replacement in patients with end-stage renal disease. Donor selection and recipient management have improved significantly over the years, leading to excellent allograft and patient survival rates. This success has been the result of intensive and carefully designed basic and clinical research in transplantation immunology, pathology, donor selection, and recipient management. Our aim in launching this Special Issue is to review recent advances in relevant areas of renal transplantation, such as immunology, HLA laboratory work, donor and recipient selection, and recipient management. Of course, there are still challenges to overcome, which will also be addressed in this Special Issue.
