Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Developments in pediatric ophthalmology have been observed during the last decade. This Special issue will focus on updates to knowledge on the diverse aspects of visual health in children, ranging from diagnosis to theraphies. Pediatric vision care encompasses a broad spectrum of challenges, ranging from thecearly detection of refractive errors and amblyopia to the management of inherited diaseases, acquired ocular pathology, and long-term rehabilitation, among others. We invite original research and reviews addressing epidemiology, risk factors, and innovative diagnostic approaches, including advanced imaging, ocular biometry, and functional assessments. Topics of interest include refractive error management, amblyopia and strabismus therapies, pediatric cataract and aphakia rehabilitation, ocular surface disease, myopia prevention and control, inherited eye diseases, and systemic disorders affecting vision. Submissions are also encouraged on the integration of artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and novel screening technologies into pediatric practice, as well as low-vision aids and vision rehabilitation strategies. By bridging clinical practice with translational research and future innovations, this Special Issue will highlight emerging therapeutic directions and foster interdisciplinary collaboration to improve pediatric vision outcomes worldwide.
