Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Significant advancements in pediatric ophthalmology have emerged over the past decade. This Special Issue aims to highlight recent updates and new insights across the diverse domains of visual health in children—from early diagnosis to novel therapeutic approaches.

Pediatric vision care encompasses a wide range of challenges, including early detection of refractive errors and amblyopia, management of inherited and acquired ocular diseases, and long-term visual rehabilitation. We welcome original research and comprehensive reviews addressing epidemiology, risk factors, and innovative diagnostic techniques such as advanced imaging, ocular biometry, and functional visual assessments.

Topics of interest include refractive error management, amblyopia and strabismus therapy, pediatric cataract and aphakia rehabilitation, ocular surface disease, myopia prevention and control, inherited eye disorders, and systemic diseases impacting vision.

We also encourage submissions exploring the use of artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and emerging screening technologies in pediatric ophthalmic practice, as well as studies focused on low-vision aids and vision rehabilitation strategies.

By bridging clinical practice with translational research and technological innovation, this Special Issue aims to spotlight emerging therapeutic directions and promote interdisciplinary collaboration to improve visual health outcomes for children worldwide.
