Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Colorectal cancer presents a growing public health issue, characterized by an increasing incidence rate. Moreover, its anatomical pathology is becoming more aggressive and is appearing at younger ages. The occurrence of synchronous or metachronous tumors is rising, leading to challenges in diagnosis and treatment approaches. This Special Issue aims to illuminate these cancer forms, and their diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, emphasizing new trends and discoveries that can assist treatment teams.
We invite experts in the field to elaborate on and share their experiences regarding the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer. Additionally, we welcome new studies that explore the etiology and progression of malignant tumors, including the emergence of synchronous tumors. We encourage original articles, reviews, and systematic reviews that could significantly impact the field.
Articles related to innovative therapies, understanding the molecular alterations employed in diagnosis and prognosis, and the influence of the immune system on tumor growth and metastasis are welcome. There is also room for new approaches to treatment and monitoring, including immunotherapy and gene therapy, which complement surgical options to enhance patient outcomes. Please note that the Special Issue is focused on molecular research, so purely clinical research will not be accepted. However, clinical submissions with biomolecular experiments are welcomed.
This Special Issue is led by Prof. Dr. Victor Strambu and assisted by our GE's Assistant Editors Dr. Alexandru Grigorescu <email alexgrigorescu2004@yahoo.com> (Scientific Researcher, grade 1, Senior Specialist in Oncology, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania) and Dr. Cristian Iorga <cris.iorga@yahoo.com> (Lecturer, Senior Specialist in General Surgery, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania; Dr Carol Davila Clinical Nephrology Hospital, Bucharest, Romania).
