2016	The inaugural issue was released. Data was published as a quarterly journal.
2017	Data was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 2 (Issue 1).
2018	Data was indexed in Inspec - IET. Data became an affiliated journal of the Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN).
2019	Data was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
2020	Data received its first CiteScore (2019) of 2.1. Data established the following sections: Chemoinformatics; Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Data Science; Information Systems and Data Management; Spatial Data Science and Digital Earth; Featured Reviews of Data Science Research.
2021	Data adopted a monthly publication schedule.
2023	Data received its first Impact Factor (2.6).
2024	Data was indexed in Ei Compendex—Elsevier.
