Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Hypertension in children is a significant risk factor, affecting about 5% of the pediatric population. It also exacerbates morbidity in children with other chronic diseases. Studies indicate a higher risk of hypertension in adults with a history of childhood hypertension, and children with hypertension show evidence of end-organ damage.
The main objective of this Special Issue is to review current evidence regarding pediatric hypertension and its interactions with cardiovascular, neurovascular, and renal morbidities, as well as its long-term implications. Additionally, we aim to summarize information on the interaction between risk factors for hypertension, such as obesity and metabolic disorders, and the development of end-organ damage. Addressing hypertension in at-risk groups of children with chronic diseases is crucial for reducing morbidity in these populations.
We welcome original papers, including clinical trials, meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and original research, on topics related to hypertension and its comorbidities in children.
