Prevention, Intervention, and Care for Children at Risk of Visual Impairment

This special issue belongs to the section “Pediatric Ophthalmology“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Visual impairment in childhood can have lasting impacts on learning, development, and quality of life. Early identification and timely intervention are, therefore, essential to prevent avoidable vision loss and support optimal visual outcomes. This Special Issue focuses on advancing the science and practice of “Prevention, Intervention, and Care for Children at Risk of Visual Impairment”. We invite contributions to explore the effectiveness of pediatric vision screening programs, the development of innovative diagnostic tools, and strategies that bridge early detection with targeted interventions. Emphasis will be placed on evidence-based practices that enhance access to care, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and reduce disparities in pediatric vision health. By integrating research on early detection, intervention outcomes, and long-term visual development, this Special Issue aims to inform best practices and guide future strategies to improve visual outcomes and quality of life for children at risk of visual impairment.
