Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are thrilled to present this Special Issue dedicated to "Dental Biomaterials: Current and Future Perspectives." This Special Issue aims to investigate the latest advancements and future directions in the field of dental biomaterials, which is a cornerstone of modern dentistry that significantly influences patient care and clinical outcomes. The scope of this Special Issue encompasses a wide range of topics, including but not limited to the following:
- Innovative Materials: Developing and characterizing new dental biomaterials, including composites, ceramics, polymers, and metals.
- Biocompatibility and Bioactivity: Studies on the interaction of dental materials with biological tissues, focusing on biocompatibility, bioactivity, and the promotion of tissue regeneration.
- Clinical Applications: Practical applications of dental biomaterials in restorative dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
- Technological Advances: The role of cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printing, nanotechnology, and computer-aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM) in the development and application of dental biomaterials.
We warmly invite researchers, clinicians, and industry experts to contribute their original research, reviews, and case studies for this Special Issue. Your contributions will help shape the future of dental biomaterials, fostering innovation and enhancing patient care.
Call to Action: We encourage you to submit your work and participate in this exciting endeavor to advance the field of dental biomaterials. Share your insights, discoveries, and innovations with a global audience and contribute to the collective knowledge that drives the next generation of dental materials and technologies.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Bioengineering is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
