2020	The inaugural issue was released. Automation was published as a yearly journal.
2021	Automation adopted a quarterly publication schedule. Automation was indexed in DOAJ.
2023	Automation was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
2024	Automation was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1). Automation received its first CiteScore of 2.9.
2025	Automation established the following sections: Automation in Energy Systems; Control Theory and Methods; Industrial Automation and Process Control; Intelligent Control and Machine Learning; Robotics and Autonomous Systems; Smart Transportation and Autonomous Vehicles. Automation received its first Impact Factor (2.0), ranked 46/89 in "Automation & Control Systems".
2026	Automation adopted a bimonthly publication schedule.
