Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The field of implant dentistry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by innovative techniques and advanced scientific research that enhance both the effectiveness and predictability of dental care. This Special Issue presents a curated selection of articles that delve into the forefront of implant dentistry, highlighting key areas such as guided implant surgery, restorative dental implantology, phenotype modification therapy, and ridge augmentation.

Guided implant surgery has revolutionized the field by integrating cutting-edge imaging technologies and surgical protocols, facilitating precise implant placement and minimizing complications. This advancement not only optimizes surgical outcomes but also enhances patient confidence in dental treatments. Concurrently, the domain of dental implantology continues to evolve with new implant designs and materials, promising improved osseointegration and the longevity of dental restorations.

Phenotype modification therapy introduces an innovative dimension to implant dentistry, focusing on the biological and biophysical interactions between the dental implants and surrounding tissues. By understanding and manipulating these interactions, clinicians can enhance personalized treatment strategies that cater to individual patient needs.

Ridge augmentation remains a critical consideration in implant dentistry, providing solutions for patients with insufficient bone volume. This Special Issue will explore the latest methodologies and materials designed to optimize ridge augmentation, paving the way for successful implant placements and improved esthetic results.

Through the assembly of these pioneering studies and expert perspectives, this Special Issue aims to foster a deeper understanding of the synergies between these advancements, ultimately contributing to enhanced patient outcomes and the evolution of best practices in implant dentistry.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
