Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Currently, smart agriculture technology has become the forefront of modern agricultural technology development. Intelligent agricultural machinery equipment is the main tool for the application of smart agriculture technology, which can significantly improve the quality and efficiency of operations and liberate the labor force. The technology of intelligent agricultural equipment is centered around information technologies such as satellite positioning, intelligent control, the Internet of Things, mobile Internet, and big data. In recent years, the technology of intelligent agricultural equipment has been widely applied in the production processes of field crops, including land preparation, sowing, fertilizing, spraying pesticides, transplanting, and weeding, achieving precise operations.

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to a Special Issue of AgriEngineering, titled “Advances in Intelligent Equipment for Agricultural Mechanization and Electrification”.

This Special Issue aims to showcase the cutting-edge research achievements of intelligent operation equipment in the links of field crop plowing and soil preparation, sowing, fertilizing, spraying, transplanting, weeding, etc. It seeks to compile original studies and comprehensive reviews that demonstrate novel methodologies, system integrations, field or laboratory validations, and practical applications aligned with precision operations and intelligent equipment.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Electrified and new energy intelligent agricultural machinery;
  • Intelligent autonomous navigation and multi-machine cooperative systems for agricultural machinery;
  • Intelligent soil tillage technology and equipment for field crops;
  • Precision seeding and variable-rate fertilization intelligent equipment;
  • Intelligent pesticide spraying technology and equipment for reduced application;
  • Automated transplanting and intelligent gap-filling technology and equipment;
  • Intelligent weeding technology and equipment for sustainable weed management.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. AgriEngineering is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
