Seed Science and Technology
A section of Agriculture (ISSN 2077-0472).
Section Information
The ‘Seed Science and Technology’ section aims to publish high-quality papers that focus on studies exploring seed biology, production, enhancement, preservation, and storage technologies. An emphasis is placed on understanding seed development, dormancy, germination, and vigour. This section welcomes innovative research that advances seed science and contributes to the development of resilient, sustainable agricultural practices for optimizing crop productivity and sustainability. In this regard, it is essential that seeds have strong genetic potential, high germination rates, and enhanced resistance to both biotic and abiotic stress. Achieving high-quality seeds relies on techniques and technologies (including molecular and biotechnological methods, digital tools, artificial intelligence (AI), and remote sensing that improve seed performance, support precision agriculture, and enhance longevity, all of which are critical for modern agricultural systems. Importance is given to quality assurance throughout the entire seed production process, including maintenance of genetic purity, proper processing, and storage and packaging to preserve seed health and viability. This section welcomes innovative research that advances seed science and contributes to the development of resilient, productive, and sustainable agricultural practices.
