About Journal of Theoretical and Applied Electronic Commerce Research

Aims

The Journal of Theoretical and Applied Electronic Commerce Research (JTAER; ISSN 0718-1876) is an international peer-reviewed open access journal that offers an opportunity for scholars, practitioners, and policy makers to share and debate new ideas that will influence or inform digital commerce. For the purposes of JTAER, digital commerce includes research on new or future technologies (e.g., AI, blockchain, Web3, immersive commerce, industry 5.0), changing business or consumer practices (e.g., platform economies, social commerce, sustainability), and significant societal problems (e.g., ethics, privacy, digital inclusion, climate). JTAER also supports interdisciplinary approaches that encompass business, technology, and social science with the goal of developing knowledge and practice for responsible, sustainable, and inclusive electronic commerce around the world.

    • Big data, predictive modeling, generative AI, algorithmic decision-making, consumer behavior, recommendation systems.

    • Startups, entrepreneurial ecosystems, platform economies, innovation in digital commerce, emerging business models.
  4. FinTech, Blockchain, and Digital Finance
    • Financial technology, decentralized finance (DeFi), Web3, digital currencies, payment innovations, smart contracts.
  5. Digital Business, Governance, and Sustainability
    • Organizational transformation, governance frameworks, ESG, responsible innovation, inclusive commerce, circular economy, sustainable digital practices.
  6. Immersive Commerce and Emerging Technologies
    • AR/VR/XR, metaverse commerce, IoT, Industry 5.0, smart retail spaces, immersive consumer experiences.
