Cover Story: Mongolian cashmere is a luxury fiber with unique properties, yet there is limited research on the factors influencing its quality. This study explores how both genetic and non-genetic factors, such as breed, age, and region, affect the physical and mechanical properties of Mongolian cashmere fibers. Using statistical methods, the research evaluates key characteristics like fineness and tensile strength in cashmere samples from various goat breeds. The findings provide insights that can improve classification systems for cashmere and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring Mongolia remains a key player in the global cashmere market.
