Cover Story: Antireflection coatings are essential for various optics in microscopy, lithography, laser processing and everyday products such as eyeglass lenses, cameras, etc. Advances in coating technologies enable more performant optics. This work demonstrates antireflection coatings by atomic layer deposition with nearly identical optical function along the surface of steeply curved lenses. The reflectance was reduced from approximately 4% to an average of 0.3% in the 400 nm to 750 nm spectral range. View this paper
