Text Correction
There were inaccurate descriptions in the Materials and Methods Section of the original publication [1]. After reviewing the original laboratory records, the authors provide the following corrections and clarification.
The content of Section 2.1, Paragraph 1, has been corrected as follows: In this study, the Pseudococcus jackbeardsleyi colony (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) was intercepted at the Shenzhen port of entry from wax apple imported from Thailand. The colony was established and maintained in the Laboratory of Phytosanitary Treatment at the Chinese Academy of Quality and Inspection & Testing (CAQIT), using insecticide-free potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L., cultivar ‘Marco’) as the host. Infested potatoes were kept in plastic boxes (30 cm × 20 cm × 8 cm) lined with filter paper. Three ventilation holes (2 cm in diameter) were cut in each lid and covered with copper mesh (70 μm pore size). Rearing was conducted in an environment-controlled chamber (KBF720, BINDER) at 25 ± 1 °C, 70 ± 5% relative humidity, and a 14 h light:10 h dark photoperiod [20,21]. Newly hatched nymphs were collected directly from the potatoes, whereas second- and third-instar nymphs and adult females were transferred using a soft brush. For confirmatory assays, gravid females were allowed to oviposit for 24 h and were then removed, and the resulting progeny were reared under the same conditions for approximately 30 days to obtain late-stage adult females; the laboratory lifespan is approximately 35 days.
The first sentence of Section 2.2.3, Paragraph 1, has been corrected as follows: Following irradiation under normoxic and hypoxic conditions, potatoes infested with P. jackbeardsleyi were transferred to plastic rearing containers and maintained under controlled laboratory conditions (25 ± 1 °C, 70 ± 5% RH, 14:10 h L:D photoperiod).
The following clarification has been added to Section 2.2, Paragraph 1: However, as this study focused on treatment outcomes and transcriptomic responses at the prescribed dose, the number of treated females was below the sample size required for the validation described above.
A typographical error in the third sentence of Section 3.1, Paragraph 1, has been corrected: 3710 and 3620 were replaced with 3967 and 3514, respectively.
The following clarification has been added to Table 1:
Table 1. Results of the irradiation tests of late females of P. jackbeardsleyi reared on potato at the phytosanitary treatment dose of 166 Gy for the prevention of F1 generation progeny.
The inaccurate descriptions arose during the collaborative compilation of materials from several projects conducted at different locations. The reported irradiation-treatment observations and transcriptomic results remain unchanged.
