Crop Protection, Diseases, Pests and Weeds
A section of Agriculture (ISSN 2077-0472).
Section Information
The Section "Crop Protection, Diseases, Pests, and Weeds" aims to publish high-quality scientific multidisciplinary contributions demonstrating the integration of different control methods into crop protection. Particular attention is paid not only to the control of traditional adversities but also to emerging plant diseases and pests, as well as to environmental changes, which, combined with the introduction of new pathogens, require new adversity control strategies.
We will consider for publication studies on traditional and innovative strategies for controlling phytopathogens, phytophagous insects, and weeds, especially in the context of sustainable agriculture, and we encourage the scientific community to highlight the practical aspects and potential applications of their research. Topics covered in this section include, but are not limited to, the following: (i) integrated pest and weed management systems; (ii) mechanisms of action of both novel and conventional pesticides; (iii) environmental impacts of pesticide usage; (iv) plant–microbe interactions in agricultural systems; (v) natural compounds as antimicrobials, fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides in crop protection; (vi) ecological effects of invasive alien species in agroecosystems; (vii) innovative sampling and monitoring approaches for plant diseases; (viii) application of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics in crop protection-related fields.
