Cover Story: Since the proposed actuator is so soft and flexible, it can be easily embedded into flexible or shape-changeable devices. We inserted the structure of the proposed actuator and its operating principle. We made a wave-shaped PVC gel as a vibrating film to maximize the displacement in a small and thin actuator and designed a new structure for concentrating most of electric energy on the actuation. When voltage input is applied to the PVC gel, the PVC gel deforms toward an anode. So, under an applied voltage, the actuator compresses to the thickness direction. As soon as remove the voltage input, and it quickly returns to its initial state. Viev this paper here.
