Cover Story: The impacts of invasive species increase in parallel to the size of their populations, making long-term monitoring programs essential. The authors surveyed invasive populations of rose-ringed and monk parakeets established in Seville (Spain) to assess their population dynamics and spatial distribution area and compare this information with citizen science data. The results showed a rapid increase in the number of individuals and a range expansion of parakeets over the nine-year study period. Citizen science, despite its limitations, was able to profile these trends in both population growth and spatial range. View this paper
