Cover Story: In this manuscript, we undertake a systematic review and transdisciplinary synthesis of research outputs from the Landscape Decisions Programme (LDP). The LDP is a large Strategic Priorities Fund (SPF) programme funded by United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI), aiming at delivering better, evidence-based decisions within the United Kingdom’s landscapes through research collaborations with policy, businesses, and land management partners to work towards a holistic decision-making framework that will inform how land can be used better. The study proposed grounded decision principles for the improved integration of evidence to inform landscape decisions, so that landscape governance results in a sustainable and multifunctional landscape in an inclusive and socially acceptable manner.
