January-1 2023 - 249 articles

Cover Story: Biopolymer scaffolds with a tailored biochemical composition and biophysical characteristics are in high demand for tissue regeneration. In this study, the electrospinning technique was applied to generate silk fibroin-CNT composite fibers, which are mechanically strong, well aligned, biocompatible, and electrically conductive. The fibers effectively mediated the electrical stimulation of fibroblasts from patients of pelvic organ prolapse for improved collagen synthesis. The developed material and method offer a simple, direct, and effective way to remedy the dysfunctional fibroblasts of patients for the personalized cell therapeutic treatment of diseases and health conditions associated with collagen disorder. View this paper
