Cover Story: Post-occupancy evaluation (POE) of buildings is becoming increasingly important for evaluation and improving the performance of buildings. POE provides invaluable insights into the environmental performance and user’s behaviour which can be used for both fine tuning the building’s operation and to better inform the decision-making process at the design stage. This paper investigates occupant satisfaction in a small and innovative sustainable building in the UK after a period of occupancy. A primary conclusion is that occupants’ satisfaction with their indoor environment is context-dependent and that sustainable green buildings with a good level of users’ control and interaction with their buildings enhance the quality of indoor environment resulting in high levels of users’ comfort and satisfaction.
