Cover Story: Tin oxide (SnO2) and titanium oxide (TiO2) have often been utilized as key components in the electron transport layers (ETLs) of lead–halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs). We investigated the formation of nanoparticulate SnO2/TiO2 solid solutions via a sintering process and evaluated the effect of Li-doping on the performance of PSCs. Successive spin-coating and sintering of the integrated double layers, i.e., a layer of single-nanometer-scale SnO2 particles and Li-containing titanium isopropoxide precursors, enabled the production of a Li-doped SnO2-based solid solution with TiO2. This process could offer a beneficial approach as an alternative to conventional SnO2 ETLs for optimizing the performance of PSCs. View this paper
