To a mixture of (0.85 g, 4.9 mmol) of metachloroperoxybenzoic acid (mCPBA) [1,2] and (1.63 g, 19.6 mmol) of sodium hydrogenocarbonate (NaHCO3) in 20 ml of dichloromethane was added (1 g, 2.42 mmol) of 1 in 10 ml of CH2Cl2. After stirring for 48 h at ambient temperature, the mixture was washed with 20 ml of 10 % Na2CO3 and 20 ml of a saturated solution of NaHCO3. The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuum. The yellow residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography using 8/2 hexane/EtOAc as solvent to give 2 (0.90 g, 84 %).
