Advancements in Coupling Simulation and Artificial Intelligence: Methods, Applications, and Future Directions
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
The intersection of simulation and artificial intelligence (AI) has become a burgeoning area of research, promising to revolutionize various industries by enhancing predictive capabilities, optimizing processes, and enabling smarter decision making. This Topic aims to gather multidisciplinary research that explores the integration of simulation techniques with AI methodologies, fostering collaboration among scholars from computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, and other relevant fields. This Topic focuses on the innovative convergence of simulation and AI, addressing both theoretical advancements and practical applications.
We invite contributions that cover, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- Development of AI-enhanced simulation models;
- Integration of machine learning algorithms with traditional simulation techniques;
- Applications of coupled simulation–AI in healthcare, manufacturing, finance, and other industries;
- Comparative studies of simulation methods with and without AI integration;
- Case studies demonstrating the impact of AI-driven simulations in real-world scenarios;
- Novel frameworks and tools for implementing AI in simulation environments;
- Ethical considerations and challenges in the integration of AI with simulation.
We encourage submissions that present original research, comprehensive reviews, case studies, and perspectives that will collectively enhance our understanding of how AI can be effectively coupled with simulation to solve complex problems.

Preprints.org is a multidisciplinary platform offering a preprint service designed to facilitate the early sharing of your research. It supports and empowers your research journey from the very beginning.
MDPI Topics is collaborating with Preprints.org and has established a direct connection between MDPI journals and the platform. Authors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by posting their preprints at Preprints.org prior to publication:
- Share your research immediately: disseminate your ideas prior to publication and establish priority for your work.
- Safeguard your intellectual contribution: Protect your ideas with a time-stamped preprint that serves as proof of your research timeline.
- Boost visibility and impact: Increase the reach and influence of your research by making it accessible to a global audience.
- Gain early feedback: Receive valuable input and insights from peers before submitting to a journal.
- Ensure broad indexing: Web of Science (Preprint Citation Index), Google Scholar, Crossref, SHARE, PrePubMed, Scilit and Europe PMC.
