Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Sustainable land use is an important issue for the global community, playing a crucial role in ensuring the long-term viability of our planet. One of the ways to promote sustainable land use is through education, which can help individuals and communities to understand the benefits of sustainable practices and the ways in which they should be implemented. Informal education, which takes place outside of traditional classroom settings, has become increasingly important in recent years, and social media platforms have emerged as a powerful tool for promoting informal education. This Special Issue seeks to explore the use of social media for informal education on the topic of sustainable land use.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • The use of social media for informal education of sustainable land use;
  • Artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic as research methods for exploring informal education of sustainable land use via social media;
  • The effectiveness of social media for promoting sustainable land use practices;
  • The role of social media influencers in promoting sustainable land use;
  • The impact of social media on attitudes towards sustainable land use;
  • The use of social media analytics to measure the impact of informal education on sustainable land use practices;
  • The challenges and opportunities of using social media for informal education of sustainable land use;
  • Case studies of successful social media campaigns for promoting sustainable land use practices;
  • The potential of virtual reality and other emerging technologies for informal education about sustainable land use via social media

We welcome original research articles, reviews, and case studies that address these themes and all related topics. We look forward to receiving contributions from researchers from a range of disciplinary backgrounds, including environmental science, education, communication, and computer science.
